CASE STUDY
bright people
The Jill Dando Institute of Crime Science, based at University College London is the first Institute in the world devoted to Crime Science. The JDI was formed in 2001 upon the second anniversary of Jill Dando's murder, marking an end to the campaign to raise funds. Their main aim is to apply scientific techniques to crime prevention and detection. Nick Ross, Crimewatch's co-presenter and the advisory board members asked The Studio to help them at the launch by creating a brand identity for the new initiative.
illuminating ideas
The Studio were briefed to create an identity to reflect both public opinion and popularity of Jill Dando, it seemed fitting that the floral tribute chosen should be a Forget-Me-Not. This floral tribute was further developed and a typographic style was used across all promotional literature and website.
brilliant results
The aim of the Institute is to become a world leader in the field of innovation and evidence-based crime reduction techniques. With the new branding in place and a set of corporate brochures, the Institute is well placed to continue to raise the profile of the Jill Dando brand.
