Publishers Licensing Society

CASE STUDY
bright people
The Publishers Licensing Society was established 25 years ago by the UK publishing industry. Its role is to oversee a collective licensing scheme in the UK for copying books, journals and magazines; it also encourages innovation and good practice in rights management and clarifies the relationship between traditional copyright management practices and those needed in the digital age.
illuminating ideas
The Studio was commissioned to create an up-to-date identity for PLS, the objective being to emphasise their range of core values, particularly in the environment of digital communications. The logo created by The Studio was designed with a range of specific projects in mind such as conferences and exhibitions, awareness campaigns - but most significantly at the time of The Studio's involvement, to celebrate the Publishers Licensing Society's 25th anniversary year.
brilliant results
It was universally agreed by the client that the newly designed clean and simple logo worked excellently in all media and achieved its aims of moving PLS into the 21st century. David of PLS commented: "The re-design has achieved a number of important aims for the Society, not least of which is positioning us as a leading organisation whose aims are to lead and inspire the industry."
