The Data Publishers Association (DPA) is the industry body representing data and directory publishers in the UK. Its role is to protect and promote the interests of the industry, both in print and electronic media. The highlight of the DPA’s calendar is without doubt the DPA Conference and Awards, which recognises and promotes excellence in directory and data publishing and celebrates the best of the best, in a wealth of different categories. Following the huge success of the brand identity The Studio created for the 2007 DPA Awards we were asked to develop the brand ready for the launch of the 2008 conference and awards.
Having two faces, that of the Awards and Conference, it was essential that the branding for the event was composed of elements that could easily shift to represent both parts, but still exist as one identity. A highly detailed and colourful illustrative style was used to reflect the message of ‘publishing for profit in the new digital age’.
“There was a great buzz at this year’s DPA Conference and Awards and the general view was that this was the best event we have so far staged. Through working closely with The Studio we were able to create a professional image for both the Conference and Awards that really grabbed people’s attention.” Jerry Gosney, DPA
