The Periodical Publishers Association (PPA) is the organisation for magazine and business-to-business media publishers in the UK. PPA's role is to promote and protect the interests of the industry. Throughout the year the PPA organise many popular conferences, seminars and award ceremonies, the most prestigious being Magazines (2007). This two-day event has become the industry's flagship and this year included 11 separate conferences, 3 awards ceremonies including the PPA Awards for editorial and publishing excellence; a gala awards dinner for 1500 guests.

Almost immediately after finishing 2006's event The Studio and PPA started to develop the theme for the 2007 event. The brief called for a new brand identity for the event to work with the theme of ‘Breaking New Ground’. This identity had to be striking, prominent and have a strong presence across all mediums - pre, post and during the event. The Studio designed and project managed every aspect of this complex project and created every piece of literature for the end-user from the awards entry and delegate-booking brochures, to the graphics used by the AV specialists, to event branding and signage and finally the tickets, certificates, menus and winners brochures. There was a huge number of individual pieces of information all successfully delivered on time, within budget and on brief.

Some 3,000 people attended the event this year, reported to be a resounding success.
